Solana Meme Factory Pump.Fun Adds Livestreaming Feature—What May Go Wrong?

Solana meme gold coin creation protocol Pump.fun has added a livestreaming feature in the latest update. Under 24 hrs after it had been added, everything has become very weird.

This uses a “livestreaming meta” triggered with a mother sexualizing herself on the Kick stream to function her son’s meme gold coin required over Twitter. This brought to a number of tokens driven by crazy stunts performed on stream. They’ve vary wildly: There’s been a boxing fight that ended having a dev losing a tooth or perhaps a man who claimed to possess no hands so he couldn’t rug the token he was promoting. Then—you suspected it—he pulled his hands from behind his back and blatantly rugged the token on stream. 

Previously, degenerate devs would livestream on other platforms like Kick, Twitter, or perhaps Telegram. However, Pump.fun has added the choice to livestream being an experimental native feature around the platform.

Thinking about the lengths that devs have previously attended pump their meme coins, some worry this latest feature will accelerate the degeneracy—especially without the type of strict guidelines and content rules on other livestreaming platforms.

There’s already a dev livestreaming a detailed from their asshole and the other that’s take their seven year-old daughter on stream.

“There aren’t rules for streaming. With respect to the content of the stream it’ll be tagged as [safe for work] or [unsafe for work],” Pump.fun support, Shadow, told Decrypt on Telegram. He later added these tags have to be by hand added by moderators. 

It’s worth noting that although explicit tokens are tagged NSFW, users aren’t motivated to verify they’re over 18 before entering the stream.

Pump.fun support told Decrypt that users might have sex during stream and wouldn’t use whatever repercussions. When asked whether someone could livestream self-harm, Pump.fun support responded: “We would prefer to not have access to someone do this.” 

This move comes per week following a Pump.fun dev doused themself in isopropyl alcohol coupled with fireworks shot at him, leading to third degree burns. He was rushed to some hospital and it is now inside a Miami intensive care unit, dealing with a skin graft.

Mikol, the Solana dev who endured the burns, required to Twitter saying, “I need my credit.” He was suggesting that Pump.fun added the feature, partly, because his stunt made headlines. 

Meanwhile, some people that use the platform are upset that has that lean into its casino-like elements are now being prioritized. They’d rather begin to see the team do more to pay attention to security and safety. 

“Instead to do updates to permit users to higher safeguard [themselves] from scam &amp rugs, they’re only doing what’s going to drive them probably the most attention,” one investor stated on Twitter.

The meme gold coin factory faced a serious exploit earlier this year as a result of a purported ex-worker who seems to possess been arrested. Stacc, the attacker, stated he desired to “kill” the protocol since it “inadvertently hurt people,” warning when things continue the way they are that somebody is “going to kill themselves eventually.”
