Google Hints Crypto Bear Marketplace is Negatively Affecting Ad Revenue

Google saw a pullback in the advertising revenue in the financial services category, such as the cryptocurrency subcategory, according towards the latest earnings call from Google’s parent company, Alphabet.

Alphabet’s revenue from Google advertising dropped within the third quarter of the year, stated Philipp Schindler, SVP and CBO at Google.

Schindler mentioned that,

“In the 3rd quarter, we did visit a pullback in spend by a few advertisers in a few areas searching ads. For instance, in Financial Services, we had a pullback within the insurance, loan, mortgage and crypto subcategories.”

He added that the organization is “operating within an uncertain atmosphere.”

Later within the call, Schindler stated there seemed to be a pullback in spending by a few advertisers on YouTube and Network – which elevated within the third quarter. 

Particularly, in This summer this season, Google updated its financial services and products policy, which incorporated needs for crypto-related advertisements. These updates centered on France, Germany, Columbia, the Philippines, the Uae, Hong Kong, and Thailand.
