Nikolai Mushegian, co-founding father of the cryptocurrency lending platform MakerDAO and also the decentralized Dai (DAI) stablecoin, was discovered dead in Puerto Rico a week ago.
Mushegian died because of drowning after being pulled by ocean currents around the Condado beach in San Juan, the neighborhood newspaper El Nuevo Día reported. Mushegian didn’t have vital signs when his body was saved.
The Condado beach is considered one from the world’s most harmful places for swimmers, apparently using the lives with a minimum of eight individuals 2021.
The unfortunate event was reported to local government bodies around the morning on March. 28. Based on a police report, Mushegian would be a resident of San Juan. The scene was apparently investigated through the San Juan Homicide Division along with a local prosecutor.
Mushegian was an essential estimate the cryptocurrency community, adding to multiple industry projects, with a few talking about him like a “Dai architect.” The 29-year-old crypto developer is renowned for his use MakerDAO forks Rico and Rai, along with the proof-of-stake blockchain network BitShares. Mushegian is another co-founding father of the automated market maker Balancer.
MakerDAO founder and Chief executive officer Rune Christensen required to Twitter on March. 31 to state that Mushegian contributed important inputs to Maker’s development and it has done some crucial work because the beginning of Ethereum.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson authored on Twitter he understood Mushegian from during the BitShares days. “He would be a very youthful and very vibrant man who’d a really range of interests from game theory to Urbit,” Hoskinson stated, adding the coder were built with a deep knowledge of technology.
Tether co-creator Craig Sellars noted that Mushegian’s dying came only a couple of days after the MakerDAO community dicated to approve child custody of $1.6 billion in USD Gold coin (USDC) using the Coinbase crypto exchange.

Mushegian was an energetic community member on social networking. His Twitter account, Delete_shitcoin, has about 5,500 supporters during the time of writing. His last tweet was printed only a couple of hrs before his dying, talking about suggestions of alleged blackmail in the U . s . States Central Intelligence Agency and Mossad. Mushegian formerly made similar statements on Twitter, meaning in a potential “suicide” through the CIA among his possible futures.
