Turkish crypto exchange joins COPA to battle against ‘patent trolls’

Major Turkish crypto exchange BtcTurk has became a member of the crypto patent alliance (COPA) to get together with prominent firms within their pursuit to provide open use of patents and empower the adoption of crypto technologies. 

COPA aims to abolish patents as it is regarded as a hurdle to innovations inside the sector. The nonprofit favors a far more communal approach with regards to ip. Its people include prominent crypto firms like prominent firms like Coinbase, Block and Aquarius.

Aside from crypto-native companies, firms like MicroStrategy and Meta also have became a member of COPA. Nokia’s promised to help keep public patents on crypto and blockchain tech to remain available to the general public.

Based on Özgür Güneri, the Chief executive officer of BtcTurk, in an effort to enhance the crypto ecosystem, the firm made the decision to participate COPA and donate some funds towards the nonprofit to assist using its work. Güneri described the nonprofit plays a substantial role in protecting technologies within crypto, particularly with Bitcoin (BTC).

Furthermore, the exchange Chief executive officer also noted that BtcTurk is going to be cooperating with COPA in other facets of their initiatives. Including participation within their judicial processes and being available to demands in the nonprofit.

Ayça Aktolga Öztürk, the main a lawyer for BtcTurk, also commented around the subject, stating that the exchange will support COPA in standing against “patent trolls,” or individuals using trademark-patent laws and regulations maliciously and legislative protection as leverage. The manager expressed excitement about dealing with COPA and supporting the ecosystem in general.

In 2020, Block, Corporation. launched COPA to pool blockchain and crypto patents into one library to make sure open accessibility technologies produced by its member firms. The alliance recognized that crypto adoption is continuing which its success depends upon the community’s efforts to build up on the top of existing technologies.
